DAD’s PhotoAlbum provides a lot more than basic photo editing functions. It can do more because it finds and reveals all the detailed photo data that is normally hidden. Information such as camera used, exposure, and location for your photos will now be readily available to you. DAD’s PhotoAlbum uses all this information and will automatically organise your photos. You will be able to rate and tag your photos, add comments and share your photos privately with friends and family.
So what can you do with DAD and the DAD PhotoAlbum?
Here's a real world example of a problem solved using Indexing, Rules and PhotoAlbum.
My wife and I both take photos and store these on our own computers. However, like most families, we want a single family photo album. Prior to DAD, this required each of us sharing our photos with each other. Then we had to organise the photos independently, both doing the same job, time and again. What happened? Well it was all too much hassle and we never kept up to date. Now, with DAD, it is incredibly easy to keep our family photo album fresh without any hassle. These days we’re always up to date. In fact, it’s so easy that we now have multiple family photo albums! Here's how we did it:
- I created an album using some of my photos and gave it a name.
- I created a rule to automatically send my wife any photos in this album. The rule also requests from my wife any photos with this album name. (DAD is smart. It automatically detects duplicates so I can't accidentally request my own photos).
- My wife created a rule to 'auto accept' the photo files when I sent them to her and also 'auto approve' my requests for her photos.
- As soon as my wife drags her relevant photos into this album, they are automatically requested by me.
Within 5 minutes we were organised using DAD. Even better, thanks to DAD's incredible flexibility, I have now created additional rules that enable us to:
- share part of my index, the family photo album bit, with my children so they can pick and choose which photos they want to keep
- automatically send these family photo albums to our small computer under the TV. Now, whenever anyone comes over, we can run the slide show
- apply the tag 'Parents' to some of these photos, with an accompanying rule 'send photos tagged Parents to my father's DAD'. This means my parents are always up to date with our family without us having to remember to email them the photos – brilliant!
I no longer have to regret not having found the time to be organised as DAD does it all for me.
* To protect your privacy, this function is not automatic. To achieve tagged name sharing you just need to create a simple rule >> SEND PHOTOS with KEYWORD (type friend's name) to (select friend from friends list).
